Luma consists of people from all walks of life. With our diverse skillsets, experiences and professional histories, we come together to achieve the same vision.
We are counsellors, art therapists, general practitioners, nurses, corporate officers, board members, receptionists, peer workers, mental health workers, psychologists, social workers and more.
We all believe that every woman should have access to high-quality healthcare. This inspires us to turn up each day and support women in a way that allows them to grow and thrive.

Richelle is Director, Aged Care WA at Silverchain. Richelle has extensive experience across the industries of health, aged care, disability, injury management and workers’ compensation insurance. She is an AICD graduate and member, has completed a PhD and holds post-graduate qualifications in leadership and business with an undergraduate in Occupational Therapy. -
Pina has an accounting career that spans over 30 years, and she is currently the Principal at Caffarelli & Associates. While accounting, taxation and commerce has been her career, Pina has a passion for non-for-profits and the arts and has provided endless support to many boards over the years, such as Cancer Council and Perth Jazz Festival. She is currently a director of Perth Blood Institute, and 360 Health and Community. -
Margaret has an extensive career in academia and research, with a PhD in economics. She was previously Head of Graduate Studies at Curtin where she was involved in creating the first MBA course, and has undertaken extensive research in governance, corporate social responsibility, and labour market economics. Margaret has been on many healthcare boards, such as WA Lotteries Commission and Princess Margaret Hospital. -
Mark is a highly accomplished finance professional with over two decades in the mining and resources industry. He has many years’ experience in leadership roles, has served on numerous boards and committees in the for-purpose sector, and brings a wealth of strategic insight and governance expertise to Luma’s board. Mark also has an MBA, multiple graduate diplomas and a degree in the areas of corporate governance, commerce and resources law. -
Amanda is a highly experienced technology leader with over 20 years experience working across multiple industries and brings a wealth of experience across technology, strategy, innovation and commercial delivery. With a strong Accounting and Assurance foundation, Amanda brings a focus on digital enablement and governance oversight to the Luma Board. -
Carla Shearman is a seasoned communications leader dedicated to using strategic storytelling to drive positive change. With over 30 years’ experience across media, PR and stakeholder engagement, she brings deep expertise and heart to the Luma Board. Carla is especially passionate about championing women’s health and wellbeing and is committed to helping Luma create supportive, connected communities where women can truly thrive. -
Aleks is an Assistant State Solicitor at the State Solicitor’s Office in WA. She has a broad practice in criminal, constitutional and administrative law, as well as litigation and providing legal support in the government sector. She’s held board positions in the not-for-profit sector for many years, including the Council of the Law Society, Edmund Rice Centre and the CPSU/CSA. Aleks is passionate about issues impacting women, particularly mental health and family and domestic violence. -
Dr Paramanathan has worked as an obstetrician and gynaecologist across several countries including Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. She completed her undergraduate medical degree with honours at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, undertook specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in maternity units across Dublin, and underwent fellowship training in gynaecological oncology at Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne.

Bethany is our determined and compassionate CEO with over two decades of healthcare experience. In the past 15 years, she’s been leading spaces in community and healthcare that puts people and values first, with her previous role being at St John of God Healthcare. Beth leads with true purpose, is committed to empowering women through health, and has a penchant for transforming services into places that genuinely transform lives. -
Nikki is our dependable, strategic and people-orientated leader, with her heart set on empowering communities. She is passionate about inclusive and purpose-driven workplaces that bring out the best in people, and actively fosters this environment with her teams. Nikki has two decades of experience in community and health, previously working with children and youth, before moving into program management and consulting roles. -
Kylie Marston is a nursing and midwifery professional with a lifelong career dedicated to women’s health. Having worked across clinical, leadership, and service development roles, Kylie brings a deep understanding of the complexities and barriers women face in accessing healthcare. She’s passionate about advancing women’s health outcomes and closing the gap in access and equity for women across all stages of life.
