Whether you’re concerned about your own alcohol and/or drug use, recovered, experiencing relapse, or want to understand a loved one’s usage – everyone is welcome at all stages of their journey.
We offer a safe and non-judgmental spaces that cater to all women (with one group for men too). Our options include SMART groups, recovery groups, wellness activities, drug and alcohol counselling and more. Explore our options below.
Support Groups
Our support groups are open, low-commitment and welcome places to drop-in, meet other women and discuss life experiences, habits and goals. There is no shame. There is no judgement. Only new perspectives and safe conversations.
We offer the following groups, which are all facilitated by a qualified drug and alcohol counsellor in Perth.
SMART Recovery Group
SMART Recovery Group will help you build and maintain motivation, cope with urges and cravings, manage thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and lead a balanced life. This is based on the philosophy of SMART Recovery: an evidence-based recovery method which our facilitators have been trained in.
Women’s Recovery Group
A supportive group for women, focused on minimising harm related to alcohol/drug use, sharing experiences, offering new perspectives and uplifting one another.
Men’s Recovery Group
Run in partnership with Men’s Recovery Community the Men’s Recovery Group provides peer support for men experiencing mental health, alcohol and drug or other issues. The Men’s Recovery Group is a supportive group and aims to provide a place to be heard and to feel understood by people who may have experienced similar experiences and success in their recovery journey.
Mums and Bubs Recovery Group
Meet other mothers who are also on a recovery journey. This supportive and non-judgemental group is facilitated by our Alcohol and Other Drug counsellor. It is designed to create a better understanding about how to cease or reduce the harm associated with alcohol and/or other drug use – through psychoeducation, information, group support and opportunities to discuss. Held at the Spiers Centre in Heathridge, with free creche available, so you can bring your baby along.
Drug and Alcohol Counselling
Our team of qualified and passionate counsellors can work 1:1 with you to discuss alcohol and other drug related concerns, offer therapeutic support, and uplift you to create a bright future.
You can attend counselling by yourself, with family, or your partner – we encourage family involvement as it’s often helpful and uplifting.
Nurturing Families
Nurturing Families is a free outreach service for pregnant women or women with one or more children under four years of age, with current or previous alcohol and other drug issues, are not well connected to community services, and live north of the river. The program offers two years of emotional and practical support to improve health, build self-confidence, and create a healthy and happy future. The support offered to participants includes:
- Alcohol and Other Drug focused counselling
- Connecting you and your family to community resources and support
- Parenting support
- Advocating on behalf of the participant and family
- Identifying and improving your strengths, goals and lifestyle changes
Due to limited capacity, we are not able to take on new referrals at this time.
Court Diversion Program and Community Justice Services
We are a WA Diversion Program treatment provider and offer a comprehensive range of free therapeutic support to women and their families who are referred by the Diversion Officers in the metropolitan courts.
Women engaged with the Perth Drug Court can access individual, couple or family counselling, as well as our support groups.
For women and families effected by alcohol and other drug consumption and are supervised by the Department of Corrective Services – we offer a range of therapeutic options, and services under the Work and Development Permit Scheme.

Empowerment Peer Led Support Group
We host peer-led courses in collaboration with Women’s Recovery Community which include a variety of topics, held for people in the process of overcoming alcohol and drug addictions.
Tuesday evenings: 6pm – 7:30pm | 227 Newcastle Street, Northbridge.
Wellness Workshops: WA Recovery College
In partnership with WA Recovery College, we offer free courses that are open to everyone, and provides an innovative approach to mental health recovery, personal development, wellness and growth. Visit their website to find out more.
