Parent/Partner Education and Support Program (PESP)

The Body Esteem Program are travelling to Albany for the first time to deliver a one-day workshop for parents and carers of someone with an eating disorder.

This free, informative workshop will give you information about the nature of eating disorders, and tips on how to care for your loved one, so you can feel empowered in your role as carer and ally.

Mental Health First Aid Training

Learn how to support your colleagues, loved ones and community – by becoming a mental health first aider.

(Yep, it’s just like physical first aid – but for your mental health)

TWO-DAY TRAINING COURSE AT LUMA, OPEN TO ALL!

  • When: Tuesday April 29th-30th, 8am-4pm & Wednesday April 30th, 8am-4pm.
  • Where: Luma, Northbridge: 227 Newcastle Street, Northbridge

We’re excited hosting our Mental Health First Aid course again, with our licensed instructor, senior counsellor and Alcohol and Other Drug Program Officer – Karen Tovey.

Mental Health First Aid training is an engaging and interactive two-day course that gives participants skills to recognise and respond to someone experiencing a mental health crisis until the professional help comes along or the crisis is resolved. Upon completion, participates become known as MHFAiders, who are equipped with the skills to provide support when it matters most, playing a vital role in reducing stigma and promoting pathways to support for those experiencing mental health problems in our workplaces, communities, schools, and tertiary institutions.

Feel free to reach out to the lovely Karen with any questions: karen@luma.org.au.

Health Checks and Hormones

This workshop, led by Luma’s experts, will provide a comprehensive introduction to female sex hormones, key health checks, common symptoms of hormone imbalances, and effective strategies for better management of hormonal health.

Due to the number of waitlisted tickets, Luma will be joining us again at Vincent Library in time for World Health Day for a repeat session on women’s health checks and hormone balances.

Female sex hormones play a crucial role in regulating everything from physical health to emotional well-being.

Understanding how hormonal changes impact women throughout different life stages can empower individuals to take charge of their health and improve self-care.

Please note: This is a repeat session. If you attended last time, you’re still welcome to join us again — this is a great opportunity to revisit key information and ask any additional questions you may have.
